Intel Xeon processors will now come under the designation W3, W5, W7 and W9!
Intel invests heavily in R&D not only on the processor, but also on the graphics card. As a matter of fact, we see that this is starting to give results. Because the two new models named A770M and A730M managed to outperform the RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3060 models in performance tests.
Of course, the processor seems to always be a priority. Especially with the introduction of AMD’s Ryzen 3, 5, 7 and Threadripper models, Intel has been behind in terms of both performance and price for a while.
But with the arrival of the 12th generation processors, things changed. Of course, the fact that the chip crisis has dealt a bigger blow to AMD also has an effect on this. So much so that some 5th generation Ryzen processors gave lower performance than their predecessors. So it wasn’t too hard for Intel to pass.
Of course, it is estimated that the company decided that it was time to renew by turning this into an opportunity. So much so that Intel plans to change the naming of even the Xeon series. It won’t be as confusingly Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze as it did 5 years ago.
Instead, the W3, W5, W7 and W9 models listed as i3, i5, i7 and i9 will come. According to the claim, a test page that appeared this week included a model called Xeon W5-3433. It is speculated that this will be the successor to the Xeon W-3300 model.
