Information about the Intel 13th generation Raptor Lake, which is expected to be announced next fall, continues to come. While the official announcement of Raptor Lake is a short time away, the engineering sample of the Core i9-13900K model has been put up for sale on the Internet.
Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake is second hand
The new Raptor Lake series will be the last to be built on the Intel 7 compute node. Performance results for the Core i9-13900K the other day revealed that the 13th generation is almost 20 percent faster than the previous model (Core i9-12900K).
There were also some leaks about the hardware features of Intel’s new processor family. It was claimed that the company will leave a thermal gap in order to achieve higher CPU clock speeds in 13th generation processors. The engineering example that fell on the Internet revealed that such a gap does not exist.
A Chinese user, who claims to have bought Intel Core i9-13900K from the black market, also shared the technical details of the processor. According to testing with the CPU-Z program, the processor has 8 performance cores (Raptor Cove) and 16 efficiency cores (Gracemont).
The user also claimed to have connected it to the Asus Z690 ROG Apex motherboard and successfully overclocked it. However, many important features are turned off in the CPU-Z program, so we do not know whether the processor sold on the black market is really Raptor Lake.
The Chinese user said he paid around 2850 yuan ($424) for the Intel Core i9-13900K. However, this figure is well below the price tag that Intel will set. While it’s an engineering example of the product bought on the black market, it’s unlikely to cost less than $550.
We think Raptor Lake will offer innovations in many ways before it hits the market in October. However, it is still too early to see definitive results.
