Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, New Media and Communication Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Feride Zeynep Güder said that literacy education about metaverse should be given. Güder said, “Metaverse literacy, just like financial literacy, is the most important skill necessary for us to protect our identity and ourselves against all kinds of dangers.”
According to Güder from Üsküdar University, staying safe in the metaverse is of great importance. Guder said:
“For metaverse literacy to occur, new concepts such as the self-directed identity movement, digital identity protection and principles, blockchain technology, decentralization and decentralized identifiers need to be addressed with new perspectives. First of all, security needs to be ensured on Metaverse. We must first start security with ourselves. Since our data is valuable and our most valuable data is our identity, it is recommended to raise awareness about them.”
Güder also thinks that blockchain should step in as a mechanism to protect users.
