CAPTCHA tests can be bypassed with iOS 16

Introducing iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura operating systems at WWDC 2022, Apple wants to make life easier for users with new generation operating systems. Right after WWDC, Apple had released the beta version of iOS 16 for developers. According to a feature discovered in the beta version of iOS 16, iCloud can automatically pass CAPTCHA tests.

iCloud will prove you’re not a bot

CAPTCHA tests, which are presented as security against bots, ensure that only humans can access websites. The CAPTCHA system, which guarantees that access is provided by humans with tests that can be solved by humans, can annoy users, although it is necessary. Apple also noticed this and added a feature about CAPTCHA to iOS 16.

With the feature discovered in the 1st beta version of iOS 16, iCloud bypasses the desired CAPTCHA “I am not a robot” tests in applications and websites. iCloud specifically verifies that you are not a bot and prevents you from encountering CAPTCHA tests of sites. It is not known for now how Apple bypassed the CAPTCHA tests with iCloud, but it will make many users happy to have this feature in the stable version of iOS 16. Apple will put iOS 16 into open beta testing in July.
