Qualcomm has been investing heavily in the ARM-based laptop class for many years, and until recently, it had become the sole dominate in this class. Apple, on the other hand, took down its rival in just 1 year.
Big success from Apple
Starting to develop ARM-based computer chipsets under the name Apple Silicon, Apple followed a policy of rapid expansion. Apple, which has achieved significant efficiency levels, received great acclaim, as the software side was also in his hands. As a result, consumers also turned to ARM-based models.
At the point we have reached today, we see Apple dominance throughout 2021. Last year, Apple had a 90 percent revenue share in the ARM-based laptop market. Qualcomm, on the other hand, remained at around 3%. It is stated that Apple M series chipsets give Apple a significant advantage over their competitors.
When we look at the smartphone market, Qualcomm has a share of around 34 percent in terms of revenue. Apple, on the other hand, holds the 31 percent revenue share. Although Qualcomm sells more chips than its rival, they’re almost head-to-head because Apple’s cost price is higher.
