SpaceX employees who criticized Elon Musk were fired

According to an email from SpaceX president and COO Gwynne Shotwell, which was viewed by The New York Times after this letter was shared, and the statements of three unnamed employees, SpaceX laid off some of the employees involved in the preparation of the letter.

Confirming the layoffs in an email, Shotwell said: “You may have received an unsolicited request yesterday from a small group of SpaceX employees to sign an “open letter” and participate in a related survey. Based on various employee feedback, this has upset many. So The letter, the requests and the overall process made employees feel uncomfortable, intimidated and bullied and/or angry because the letter forced them to sign something that did not reflect their views.”

After these events, SpaceX has not yet made a statement, but in the continuation of the e-mail Shotwell sent to the employees, they were asked to focus on SpaceX tasks and work on it.
