SpaceX is awaiting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) permission to launch its next-generation rocket into space. Accordingly, the FAA has been investigating for some time whether the launch of SpaceX’s new rocket would pose any danger to public safety or the environment. Finally, the research came to an end and the final decision for SpaceX’s Mars rocket was revealed.

Permission granted for Starship rocket

As a result of the researches, the FAA concluded that the rocket that SpaceX will launch from South Texas does not cause environmental problems. The environmental assessment revealed that the rocket to be launched by SpaceX would not have a “significant impact” along the Gulf Coast near Texas.

However, the agency tasked SpaceX with more than 75 action plans before starting Starship flights. Thanks to these action plans, it is planned to minimize the damage to the environment. Actions that Elon Musk’s company must take include advance notice of launches, monitoring vegetation and wildlife by a biologist, and working in coordination with state and federal agencies to remove launch debris from sensitive habitats.

Among the measures taken by the FAA, people’s nearby beach, park, etc. and a highway that passes through the SpaceX site during launch so they can visit the wildlife sanctuary. The agency said the highway cannot be closed on public holidays and for more than five weekends a year.

This decision does not seem to please a certain part of society. On the other hand, SpaceX started to accelerate its work. Huge SpaceX rockets, which have been worked on for a long time, will soon be sent into space.

SpaceX’s Spaceship rockets are of great importance in line with NASA’s Moon mission and Elon Musk’s plans to colonize Mars. These rockets, which are approximately 122 meters long, also stand out with their reusable feature. In this way, SpaceX, which plans to perform space missions much faster, also aims to minimize costs.
