AMD, one of the important names in the semiconductor industry, plans to become one of the biggest customers of Taiwanese giant manufacturer TSMC. Relying on TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process for the new RDNA 3 graphics cards and Zen 4 processors, the red team could form the bulk of the production line, according to what was reported in Taiwanese local media today.
may be TSMC’s third largest customer
As it is known, today many technology giants such as Apple, Qualcomm and MediaTek provide chip production from TSMC. In the fourth quarter of 2022, AMD is expected to reach a production volume of approximately 20,000 silicons with RNDA 3-based GPUs in addition to Zen 4 processors, and in 2023 it is thought to be the third largest customer of the Taiwanese manufacturer.
New games to add AMD FSR 2.0 support have been announced
AMD While it is unknown whether TSMC will increase this production volume in 2023, we do know that most of the chips that will be produced in the next year or two will be based on TSMC’s 5 nm node. Therefore, we can say that the new news is not a big surprise.
