Investment firms Grayscale and Bitwise are confident that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will approve a spot Bitcoin ETF.
Leading investment firms Grayscale and Bitwise spoke at CoinDesk’s Consensus 2022 conference. Matt Hougan, Bitwise’s chief investment officer, said that the process with delays and rejections will result in a “spot Bitcoin ETF”. Similarly, David LaValle, Grayscale’s global head of ETF, said the real question is not whether it will happen, but when.
Both companies have pending spot Bitcoin ETF applications. The deadline for Grayscale’s application to convert GBTC into a spot bitcoin ETF is July 6; this is June 29 for Bitwise’s application.
