Landing a helicopter on a car isn’t the first time Skoda has done it. In the first episode of the 16th season of Top Gear, which aired years ago, Jeremy Clarkson was behind the wheel of the Skoda Yeti, and a helicopter of the same weight was lowered onto the SUV while it was underway.

Now, the Czech automobile giant, which wants to do the same durability test on the Skoda Kodiaq, has started to land a 622-kilogram red helicopter on the stationary Kodiaq. The company stated that it did not make any changes to the vehicle, other than strengthening the rear suspensions, as was the case with the Yeti ten years ago.

The moments when the Robinson R22, weighing 622 kilograms, lands flawlessly on the Kodiaq:

The facelifted new Kodiaq received a Matrix LED headlight and 2.0-liter twin-turbo engine update for sporty RS trim a few months ago. The revamped model was showcased for the first time at the Robinson Helicopter Session 2021, held in the Czech Republic.

Making a statement about the video taken, Skoda announced that this time they preferred to land the helicopter on Kodiaq, which is standing instead of cruising. The company, which wanted to distribute the weight of the helicopter evenly, was able to land the Robinson R22 model helicopter with a weight of 622 kilograms, thanks to the wooden plate mounted on the roof rails.
