While wearable technologies such as smart watches continue to develop day by day, Apple came up with a controversial patent today. The new patent, approved today by the US Patent and Trademark Office, paved the way for Apple to place a camera on the pin of its smartwatches.
The new patent, which legally paves the way for the camera to be found on the digital pin of Apple Watches, also listed the possible functions of the camera. According to the information shared in the patent, the camera on the wrist will be able to detect the hand movements of the users and will make it possible to take pictures with just one hand movement.

However, the camera can also be used directly from the wrist, acting as a standard camera. In addition, according to another shared image, the body of the Apple Watch will be able to act like an action camera by separating from the strap. Of course, the camera added to the smart watch has the potential to bring about many privacy discussions.
Apple actually filed for the patent in 2019. Therefore, there is a possibility that the company may have already given up on this idea. However, the fact that Apple has patented this technology does not say for sure that we will see cameras on Apple Watches in the future.
