Using a type of light-exchangeable resin and targeted intersection lights, the researchers were able to increase the 3D printing time by 30 times. The method, which has been studied for about 5 years, has just been matured and stabilized.
In this method, the resin filled container is placed on the field and rotated. In the meantime, the light beams intersect at the target areas and cause it to harden. This method, which has a high accuracy rate, can achieve quality close to traditional printers. For example, a Yoda figure could be printed in just 20 seconds. Normally, it could be printed in 10 minutes.
On the other hand, the fact that the resin is transparent ensures higher quality. Since the opaque resin is hard to set by the light, there is a loss of quality, but it is stated that this problem will be eliminated gradually. Researchers are also looking for ways to print multiple objects at once.
