While discussions on face recognition technologies continue, PimEyes facial recognition search engine, which makes it easier to find images of people on the internet, was launched. PimEyes uses face recognition technology together with reverse image search technology to analyze and find similar images.
Offers direct links to sites
The New York Times uploaded images of many of its journalists to its search engine to test PimEyes. It was stated that people wore glasses or masks for the tests, and even images with their faces not fully visible were used. Despite this, the images with journalists were successfully listed. However, in some other tests performed outside of the NYT, searches that did not show any results were also observed.
PimEyes does not contain images from social media. Instead it uses news, articles, review sites and blogs. For this reason, the results offer direct links to the websites where the image is located.
Google Docs to make it easier to edit text blocks
PimEyes also offers a monthly and annual subscription system. In the search engine, which has packages ranging from $ 30 to $ 300, users can turn off the presence of their own images on this platform if they want.
