Security researchers examining DuckDuckGo’s system discovered a confidential monitoring agreement with Microsoft. DuckDuckGo, a security and privacy-focused firm, gained market share by saying that it does not monitor users’ searches and behavior and will not use this data for customized ads. And naturally this latest discovery messes things up a bit.
DuckDuckGo has a mobile browser of the same name in addition to its search engine. Although this browser claims to block third-party tracking software, security researchers say Microsoft’s trackers are not intentionally blocked.
DuckDuckGo blocks Google and Facebook trackers, while Microsoft unleashes those. Security expert Zach Edwards, who discovered this vulnerability, says that the bing.com and linkedin.com domains have also been released.

DuckDuckGo announced that this agreement is valid for mobile browser only, not search engine. However, users are still not satisfied with this news. In the coming days, we can expect DuckDuckGo to have a lot of headaches in this regard.
