Fed Vice Chairman Lael Brainard expressed that CBDCs can coexist with stablecoins.
Brainard said before the House Financial Services Committee that a well-designed CBDC could complement stablecoins and fiat coins.
Brainard stated that a CBDC could exist alongside stablecoins and provide a security measure.
“CBDC can coexist and complement stablecoins and fiat money, providing a secure central bank liability in the digital financial ecosystem. Just as cash now coexists with commercial bank money”
Brainard also pointed out the collapse of the UST and LUNA, stating that regulation is needed.
