After AMD introduced the Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 processor family, a slightly different APU series was also introduced. The Ryzen 6000 Mendocino APU series blends old and new technologies and plays on cost.
Ryzen 6000 Mendocino APU series
Ryzen 6000 Mendocino APU series has been developed for lower-end and daily use laptop models. It houses Zen 2 cores and RDNA 2 graphics units in a 6nm process. In general, devices in the $399-699 range are targeted.
AMD and Qualcomm collaboration
4 cores and 8 threads It is estimated that the APU series, scaled up to 1,500 units, is based on the Van Gogh design on the Steam Deck console. It has been announced that processors that can offer up to 10 hours of battery life will be on the market towards the end of the year. It is not yet known which models are in the series.
