David Solomon, CEO of Goldman Sachs, stated that he is optimistic about the impact of blockchain on finance.

Speaking to CNBC, Solomon emphasized that he is optimistic about the “digital disruption of financial infrastructure.”

Important names in the financial industry expressed that they are very optimistic about technologies such as blockchain to make financial infrastructure more efficient. Goldman Sachs is also looking for new and interesting ways to use blockchain technology.

While Solomon is optimistic about blockchain technology, he seems less enthusiastic when it comes to cryptocurrencies.

The CEO said Goldman’s involvement in the fast-growing industry was limited due to a lack of regulation. “The regulatory structure does not allow us to do much,” Solomon said.

Solomon stated that he does not have a strong opinion on any cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin.

Bitcoin slumped to $25,000, its lowest level since December 2020, before returning to $30,000. The asset is trading at $29,028 at the time of writing, according to CoinMarketCap data.
