With the end of the Wonderlust event, the iPhone 15 series has officially entered our lives. We now know many innovations of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. But there are also some iPhone 15 Pro features that Apple did not mention during the promotion. Now, let’s take a look at 7 of them together…
Weight
Apple merely said that these are the lightest Pro iPhones ever produced, but did not give official values. While the iPhone 14 Pro weighs 206 grams and the iPhone 14 Pro Max weighs 240 grams, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro weighs 187 grams and the Pro Max weighs 221 grams.
New U2 chip
You’ve probably guessed it, but the new iPhone Pro models also feature the new U2 chip. This chip allows you to connect with three times the range of before and is a new way to use Precision Finding for “Find My Friends”. Thus, users can share their location and find each other even in crowds.
Wi-Fi 6E standard
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max support Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless performance, including up to 2x faster speeds.
Qi2 wireless charging
The new iPhone 15 Pro supports MagSafe and the upcoming Qi2 wireless charging.
digital zoom
The smaller Pro model can digital zoom up to 15x, while the Pro Max version, which has up to 5x optical zoom, can digital zoom up to 25x.
Smart HDR 5
Apple has mentioned the new Smart HDR, but on its official website it calls it Smart HDR 5. It makes photos have brighter highlights, richer midtones, and deeper shadows when viewed in the Photos app. This advanced HDR processing can also be used by third-party apps, so images can look even better when shared online.
USB-C 3.0 cable optional
iPhone 15 Pro has support for USB-C 3.0, which can provide users with transfer speeds 20 times faster than USB-C 2.0. However, Apple does not include this cable in the box, users need to purchase it independently.
