Sinovac vaccine is the first vaccine to be administered in our country and it has been widely used. However, since the introduction of the vaccine, there was a negative view towards the Sinovac vaccine, especially in European countries. The vaccine is not applied in European countries and it was not included in the list of valid vaccines in the recent ‘vaccine passport’ application. Another invalid vaccine, along with Sinovac, was Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine.
The reason for this is that Sinovac and Sputnik V are not yet on the list of approved vaccines by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). 27 European countries lifted all travel bans to the USA with a decision taken in this direction in the past months. All vaccines administered in the USA are EMA approved vaccines. However, this is not the case for other world countries. EU countries impose an entry ban ‘in non-essential cases’ for the citizens of many countries where Sinovac is applied.

Recently, however, there have been changes in Europe’s view of Sinovac, especially after the Sinovac vaccine received emergency approval from the World Health Organization. In this direction, seven European countries have decided to allow those who have the Sinovac vaccine to enter their countries as tourists.
Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Finland will also allow entry to countries with Sinovac, provided that the vaccination process has been proven and the destination country is not among the ‘high-risk countries’.
In this context, there is no obstacle for people who want to travel from our country to one of these seven countries in Europe and who have had both doses of the Sinovac vaccine.
