In today’s issue of the Official Gazette, a decision concerning citizens who own motorcycles was published. The government extended the 6 months/6,000 kilometers limit for automobiles to motorcycles.
With a decision taken in 2022, 6 months/6000 km application was introduced for new kilometer cars purchased. In other words, the citizen could not sell the vehicle he bought before it reached the 6-month or 6000 km limit. The Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation on Trade in Second-Hand Motor Vehicles, published in the Official Gazette today, has expanded the regulation to include motorcycles.
The decision in the Official Gazette is as follows:
ARTICLE 2- This Regulation shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
ARTICLE 3- The provisions of this Regulation shall be enforced by the Minister of Trade.
With such a decision, the government aimed to prevent the sale of new cars for a higher price within a few months. To be frank, the regulation was effective. On the other hand; Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat also made a statement on the issue recently. With the decision published today, it is very possible that there will be an improvement in the motorcycle market.
