The new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max were subjected to a 5G speed test in America. The speed test conducted by SpeedSmart and involving America’s three major operators (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T) reveals that the new Pro models use the Qualcomm X70 modem. There is a significant improvement in 5G performance.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max offer 24% faster 5G speeds compared to previous Pro models. Although the biggest increase is seen in download speed, there are small increases in upload speed and improvements in ping times. An average download speed of 255 Mbps was achieved over 5G.

Qualcomm’s X70 modem also powers some flagship Android phones. The X70 comes with improvements like significantly lower power consumption, better 5G carrier aggregation, providing better connectivity when the phone is far from the base station. Apple will continue to use Qualcomm’s 5G modems until 2026.
