A recent report from fintech firm Finder states that the leading altcoin Ethereum (ETH) may be poised to outperform its larger peer Bitcoin (BTC) in 2022.
Leading altcoin surpasses BTC in top experts list
In a report on Bitcoin’s price predictions, a panel of 35 crypto experts said that Ethereum (ETH) will make 2022 in a big way. He says it will pass. Members ranked ETH against BTC and Solana (SOL) in their list of the best performing coins of 2022. ETH has already surpassed BTC with an increase of over 19% in the last 60 days.
87% of experts chose ETH among the top 5 tokens. 71% went to Bitcoin and 55% flagged Solana. Avalanche (AVAX) and Terra (LUNA) were preferred by 31% and 30% of experts, respectively. According to experts, the upcoming Ethereum update positions the ETH token to skyrocket this year. In the meantime, let’s mention that Avalanche and Terra are among the top 5 tokens.
Experts surveyed by Finder are feeling a little more bearish about short-term Bitcoin price increases. In January, they expected BTC to hit $76,360 by the end of 2022. However, recent reports suggest that BTC will hit $65,000 by the end of this year.
Speaking about the 2025 price prediction for Bitcoin, the views of the panelist are somewhat hopeless. Expectations seem to be waning since the last 4 reports. BTC is expected to reach $179,000 by 2025, a drop of over 7% compared to the January forecast ($192,000).
Where will Bitcoin (BTC) go in 2030?
However, experts seem more confident and bullish than Bitcoin’s long-term price perspective. It is estimated that the BTC price may reach $420,000 by the end of 2030. In the previous January report, it was predicted that the price could be around $406,000.
According to the report, the majority of respondents advise people to go for Bitcoin. While 67% of members voted to buy Bitcoin, 24% of voters say it’s time for Hodl Bitcoin. BTC is trading at an average of $41,976 at press time. The token has increased marginally by 1.63% over the past 24 hours.
