Samsung, one of the world leaders in display technologies, announced today its new high-end gaming monitor that appeals to gamers. Samsung’s new monitor was the 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8. The monitor also has the distinction of being Samsung’s first OLED panel gaming monitor.
Alongside the OLED panel, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 will be launched as one of the first monitors to feature the company’s Gaming Hub platform. So, what will the new monitor offer gamers and those who want a high-performance monitor? Let’s look at the features of the monitor.
Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 features:
The new Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 will offer images with a resolution of 3,440x 1440. That is, the screen will have an aspect ratio of 21: 9 and will show 2K resolution in its ultra wide-angle structure. The monitor will have much less curves than today’s monster Odyssey G9. Probably due to the new OLED panel, the monitor will only be curved 1800R.
Among the other features that the monitor will offer will be AMD’s FreeSync Premium feature. With this feature, gamers will minimize problems such as stuttering and tearing while playing games by dynamically adjusting the monitor’s refresh rate. Speaking of refresh rate, the monitor will be able to offer a refresh rate of up to 175 Hz.
As for the external features, the monitor will have its own stand with height and tilt adjustment. However, on the back of the monitor will be Samsung’s Core Lighting Plus system. In this way, the monitor will illuminate the environment by giving light from behind according to the image it reflects on the screen. The monitor will include Micro HDMI 2.1, Mini Display Port 1.4 and USB-C inputs.
In addition to all these, Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 will allow you to access Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Google Stadia, Utomik and Amazon Luna with its Gaming Hub platform without having any computer. In this way, you will be able to play games on the cloud system only with your monitor.
Samsung has announced that it will introduce its new monitor at IFA 2022, which will start on Friday, September 2 in Berlin. Therefore, we can expect the price of the monitor and the features that we have not heard of to be shown in this promotion.
