Apple’s new generation A20 processors will force performance limits
From a technical point of view, the 2nm chip production process of TSMC shows significant progress. According to KUO’s report, the yield rate of TSMC’s trial productions has already exceeded the 60-70 %level three months ago. This shows that Apple can use new technology smoothly with the launch of iPhone 18 models in 2026.
According to TSMC’s statements, 2NM chips will provide a performance increase of approximately 15 %in the same power consumption. Other reports show that A20 chips can be faster than 15 %faster and up to 30 %more energy efficient than A19 chips. These improvements are of great importance for artificial intelligence applications and complex tasks, especially on smartphones. For users, this development means longer battery life and a more fluent user experience.
