The AMG GT model, which Mercedes has engraved in minds, is one of the models that shows that the roof company does not only focus on comfort. This model, which we have been waiting for a new one for a long time, or rather the second generation, seems to come with features that are worth waiting for. Because there are significant changes both externally and internally.
This model, which comes in two versions, has a twin-turbo engine and the company’s new design approach to its vehicles in general shows itself. Let’s take a look both inside and outside of the new AMG GT.
We start with the design, as we always do.
The AMG GT, which looks different from the previous generation, stands as a whole with all its lines. In other words, there are no details that tire the eyes and overdo it. However, it would be a mistake to say that it looks plain. Because the aggressiveness and sportiness of the vehicle shows itself. While there is a wide grille at the front, we see aggressive marks on the hood.
The 3-point lighting system also shows itself on the dimmed headlights.
At the back, an active and curved spoiler welcomes us. Apart from that, there is a large diffuser between the quad exhaust. There will be 5 design packages and 11 color options where you can change the appearance.
While adding all this, of course, aerodynamics were considered.
The body, which consists of a mixture of aluminum, steel, magnesium and fiber, offers both strength and lightness. In order to harmonize this with aerodynamics, an active air control system called AIRPANEL was added to the vehicle. When certain parts reach certain temperatures, the air inlets in the upper and lower parts are activated.
Carbon fiber aerodynamic parts hidden under the vehicle and in front of the engine also position the vehicle according to the driving mode, allowing the vehicle to move in the most efficient way. For example, when the speed of 80 km/h is exceeded, this part increases the traction force by lowering the vehicle.
Under the hood lies the beast.
The GT model, which comes with AMG’s SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G gearbox, will also use its advantages to the fullest. The power distribution is constantly being distributed to support the grip, the company says. The engine powers of the two versions are as follows:
- AMG GT 63: 4.0-liter biturbo V8 – 577 hp / approx. 800 nm (590 lb-ft) of torque
- AMG GT 55: 4.0-liter biturbo V8 – 469 hp / approx 700 nm (516 lb-ft) of torque
Let’s take a look at the interior:
The AMG GT, which now has a 2+2 seat arrangement, has both optional and folding seats at the rear. The electrically adjustable front seats have integrated head restraints. In the performance package, there are air openings in these titles.
Three massage programs will also make you comfortable on the long road. Upholstery options include single and dual-tone Nappa leather, MANUFAKTUR Nappa with crystal stitching and Nappa with yellow or red microfibre stitching.
A 11.9-inch touchscreen display sits in the middle, while a 12.3-inch customizable display sits in front of the driver. There are buttons on the steering wheel to control driving modes and other options.
Inside, the 64-color ambient lighting comes with 7 background colors.
Finally, braking points shaped according to your speed appear on the map that appears on the interface, allowing you to be faster. Of course, this is a feature designed for the track.
