Japanese automobile giant Nissan introduced the new hybrid 2023 X-Trail, which will be a great competitor to Toyota RAV4, one of the favorites of SUV lovers. The hybrid 2023 X-Trail, which was introduced in Japan and will enter the European market this summer, is home to Nissan’s e-Power powertrain.
Although the vehicle has both an electric and an internal combustion engine as a hybrid vehicle, the internal combustion engine only acts as a generator for electric motors. In other words, the vehicle moves on the road with electric motors.
The internal combustion engine is used to power the electric motor:
The engine, which acts as a generator for electric motors, hosts a 1.5-liter engine, a turbocharger and three cylinders. While the power and torque produced in the front-wheel drive model is 150 kW/330 Nm, a second engine producing an extra 100 kW/195 Nm is added to the rear of the vehicle in the all-wheel drive model.
Nissan’s hybrid X-Trail model includes the same features as the standard X-Trail, except for the powertrain. The vehicle features adaptive LED headlights, ProPilot semi-autonomous driving technology, automatic parking, two 12.3-inch screens and a 10.8-inch instrument cluster. The price of the vehicle has not yet been announced. The non-hybrid version of the X-Trail starts at $36,750, while the highest package retails for $52,990.
