Hyundai, one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world, shared new photos of Mufasa, which will be the new SUV model. The new vehicle of the Korea-based company will be officially introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show to be held in China on April 18, 2023.
A few days before this introduction, Hyundai shared the images of the production version, which shows the design of the car, on Weibo. It should be noted that technical details about the vehicle are not yet clear.
Introducing Hyundai Mufasa
From the images shared by Hyundai, we can see how the vehicle will look like, which can get ahead of models such as the brand’s Tucson. The car, which will go on sale in the Chinese market towards the end of the year after its introduction, will replace the aging iX35 in the country.
The images reveal that the new SUV, which will be similar in size to the Tucson, has very sharp and aggressive lines, especially at the front. Although the vehicle contains details similar to the Tucson in general, the vertical headlight and the details on the rear lamp set it apart from its sibling. Of course, we can say the design language identified with Hyundai as soon as we look at what we see in this vehicle.
It is possible to say that the LED taillights at the rear are also quite remarkable. In addition, these lamps surround the large Hyundai lettering at the rear. There is no information or visual information about the interior design of the vehicle, which will be five-seater and will come with a fully digital cockpit.
What features are expected to be included in Mufasa?
We said that we do not know the technical details of the vehicle yet. However, a document from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China provided us with some details about the vehicle. Accordingly, Mufasa will be 4,475 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,686 mm high. These data confirm the information that the vehicle will have similar dimensions to the Tucson.
On the other hand, the future of the car with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine producing 158 horsepower is also included in the document. There are also rumors that the Mufasa will be offered with a hybrid engine option in the future.
We will learn all the details about Hyundai’s new SUV Mufasa, which will be produced in China, at its presentation at the fair on April 18. It is not yet clear whether the vehicle that will debut in China will come to other markets.
