BMW’s flagship SUV model X7 has been renewed. Home to many innovations inside and outside, the 2022 BMW X7 also includes updated engines. First introduced in 2018, the 7-seater SUV created controversy with its large kidney grilles. The updated design of the SUV model brings new discussions. Let’s examine the features of the renewed model together.
The new BMW X7 draws attention with its split headlights!
BMW has lifted the veils on the renewed SUV model. The new X7, which draws attention with its split headlights, has signed a new design that we have to get used to after the big kidney grilles. It seems that we will get used to this split headlight structure in a short time because according to the statement from BMW, a similar face will be used in other large luxury models of the brand.
If we start with the part that draws the most attention when examining the vehicle; There are LED daytime running lights and signals in the thin lighting group positioned just under the hood. The low and high beam function is done by the lighting group at the bottom.
The large kidney grilles of the vehicle are also in place. Kidney grilles, which maintain their dimensions, can now be preferred as illuminated in X7 xDrive40i and M60i models. At the rear, changes are more limited. While the taillights get new graphics, they are connected to each other with a thinner chrome strip.
The new BMW X7 gets a much more aggressive look when the M Sport package is preferred. In addition to the sportier front and rear bumpers, the vehicle takes on a much more sporty atmosphere with black details. Quad tailpipes and 21-inch black wheels also support this look.
Perhaps the biggest change in the new BMW X7 is located indoors. In the new X7, which has a combined screen layout, the 12.3-inch digital display is accompanied by a 14.9-inch infotainment system screen. Another important change in the interior is the brand’s farewell to the traditional gear knob. In its new model, BMW uses a gear selector instead of a gear knob, offering a wider area of use in the center console.
New engines with semi-hybrid technology
Under the hood of the new BMW X7, there are important developments. The entry-level xDrive40i has 380 horsepower and 519 Nm of torque. Thanks to the 48 V semi-hybrid system, the amount of torque can reach up to 540 Nm. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time of the vehicle, which can transmit its power to all four wheels, is 5.6 seconds.
For those who want more power, the BMW X7 M60i comes to the rescue. The 4.4-liter V8 engine, supported by a semi-hybrid system, produces 530 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. The sporty version needs 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h.
The new BMW X7, which has achieved many innovations in terms of visual and performance, will be available for sale in Europe in 2022. So what do you think about BMW’s new model? You can share your views with us in the comments section or on the SDN Forum.
