A survey with the participation of 700 people revealed the usage habits of Zoom in 2021.

According to user data between November 15, 2020 and November 15, 2021, the busiest days of meeting traffic in Zoom, which is used in 200 different countries and regions around the world in 2021, were Wednesday, Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. In the survey, which revealed that the average meeting duration was 54 and the average number of people attending these meetings was 10, the most intense day of Zoom meetings was January 21, World Hug Day. While the most intense calls made from Zoom were determined as February 21 yesterday, the most intense date for online seminars stood out as February 25.

68% of users surveyed noted that they prefer more comfortable clothes such as pajamas during a meeting than normally formal business attire. In addition, according to 47% of the participants, it is not appropriate to eat something during the Zoom meeting, while 26% stated that they do not need to take a shower before the interviews.

Within the scope of the survey, it was revealed what the most used expressions in Zoom during 2021 were. Accordingly, the most frequently used expression was “Your voice is hoarse” with 71%, followed by “Can everyone see my screen” with 57% and “Next slide please” with 21%.

During this period, the most popular activities on Zoom were happy hour and game night meetings with 73%. In addition, 34% of the participants stated that they attended exercise programs and cooking classes. According to the survey, 75% of users waved at the end of the interviews.

Participation in the meetings was mostly from the bed.

The place where users attended the meeting the most was the bed with 42%. Attendance at the most meetings, excluding beds; It took place during running and walking with 21% and in public transportation with 11%. In the background replacement feature, which is one of the most popular features of Zoom, the most used backgrounds were open-air landscapes with 26%, blurry backgrounds with 25%, and lastly, backgrounds related to the institution where the participant works with 20%.

Apart from that, 43% of users cleaned only the part of the room that was visible on the camera before joining the Zoom meeting. While 43% of the parents showed their children to the other participants in the interview, 39% of the participants made private broadcasts and chatted with their close friends for entertainment purposes. While the pets of 36% of the participants were in the frame during the meeting, the number of those who participated in the interview with the camera open was determined as 63%.
