The photographers and their works who won the 2021 leg of the Emerging Photography Awards competition, organized by Feature Shoot every year and aiming to accelerate the careers of new photography candidates, have been announced. The 12 winning photos of the competition, which made talented photographers heard all over the world, and the stories behind the photos were shared.
Photographers, editors and curators from TIME Magazine, Fortune, Rolling Stone, WIRED, The Guardian, The Dallas Morning News, The Cincinnati Enquirer, Paper Journal, GUP and many more were among the jury members of this year’s competition. The themes of this year’s winning photos were also quite broad.

Armed Doesn’t Mean Dangerous
This photo, taken by Aaron Banks, aims to break the prejudice about black people with guns. According to the US constitution, all citizens can legally own a gun. The photographer was among the winners of the competition with multiple photos reflecting this theme.

Ardhanarishvara
Anouchka Renaud-Eck’s long-term project, Ardhanarishvara, symbolizes the search for love, marriage and finding a partner for many young people in India. In Indian mythology, Ardhanarishvara is a form of Shiva in one body with his wife, Parvati.
