Our star, the Sun, which provides us with the energy that makes life possible, can emit very strong radiation to its surroundings from time to time with explosions. The intensity of these explosions affects the strength of the radiation and the path it can travel in direct proportion.
This incident has occurred violently twice in the past few days. Moreover, with the effect of solar flares, radio waves in a part of the world were adversely affected and interruptions occurred. NASA also shared the moment of an explosion on its official Twitter account.
The moments of the solar flare were shared by NASA:
The eruption on August 7, which we saw above, was listed in the ‘X’ category, which is the most severe of the Solar flares classes. In other words, the peak flux range was measured to be more than 10−4 watts per square metre. It was found to be exactly X1.5 power.
Solar physicist Keith Strong, speaking to Space.com, shared that after this event, there was a radio blackout over the USA, Canada and the Pacific Ocean.
The previous explosion took place on August 5, and this explosion was a little stronger than the one on August 7. NASA shared that the explosion was categorized as X1.6.
