Before leaving 2021 behind, we are here with a new one of our classic drag racing news. The drag races held throughout this year gave us many exciting moments. As our followers will remember, last week, two powerful latest Mustang cars threw the dust off the track. Before entering the new year, it can be nice to commemorate the old ones this time.

TLFclassics, one of YouTube’s famous automobile channels, brings two old dirt cars together in a drag race. In this interesting race, the 1987 model Porsche 944 and the 1987 model BMW M535i share their trump cards. These tools, which some of our readers will not remember and some of them are a part of their youth, can make them say that “everything is in the past”. But before we go to the race, let’s take a look at the features of the cars.

Power comparison of cars:

The first participant of the race, the BMW M535i, is physically very similar to the M5. In terms of hardware, there are differences. Equipped with the M30 inline-six engine, the BMW M535i produces 182 horsepower. The hardware differences with the M5 are of course reflected in the price of the car. It is stated that the lower-performing M535i was also preferred for ‘budget’ reasons in the race.

The other red participant of the race, the Porsche 944, can produce more horsepower against its rival. It produces 217 horsepower with its 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharger engine. Both vehicles used in the race have a price of 18 thousand dollars. Now let’s take a look at the prowess of these two old dirt cars on the drag track.

In the first phase of the race (BMW 2:56 – Porsche 5:17 min), the time to complete the track is measured. In the second stage (9:39 min), the vehicles compete in the drag race.
