Apple is a company that often accused of deliberately blocking the long -lasting devices by keeping the RAM capacity of their phones. While the 12 GB RAM gradually becomes standard in the Android market, and the manufacturers have started to compete for larger RAM dimensions, Apple may have finally decided to give up the 8 GB RAM limit.
According to the famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo based on information leaked from the company, Apple executives decided to reach 12 GB RAM with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
“My iPhone slowed down, let’s get a new iPhone”
Accordingly, the 12 GB RAM will only be on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. This means that the standard iPhone 17 models can still be released with 8 GB of RAM at the end of 2025 and even in 2026.
RAM size on iPhone devices is important in terms of performance, as in other phones. In particular, the spread of artificial intelligence practices leads to the need for higher RAM. It is possible to use phones with high RAM for many years without losing fluency. However, companies don’t like this, because a phone that works for many years without any problems means that consumers don’t buy a new phone.
