Microsoft introduced the dual-screen smartphone Surface Duo last year. After the introduction of the company’s first model in this field, the Surface Duo, the eyes turned to the Surface Neo, designed by the company in the form of a tablet PC, but these expectations were inconclusive.

Unable to launch the Surface Neo, Microsoft made a statement after the leaks continued and announced that it had postponed the Surface Neo indefinitely. Today, 1,000 days have passed since the Surface Neo was announced, and after 3 years since the name “Surface Neo” was coined, we haven’t heard anything about Microsoft’s dual-screen foldable laptop.

According to new information from sources, Surface Neo is not delayed; development has been completely stopped. In other words, it is claimed that Microsoft completely killed this device. Accordingly, we will never see the Surface Neo, but it is clear that the company can use the knowledge and experience gained from here on different devices.

The features of the Surface Neo, a device that has always been behind the curtain of secrecy, have never been fully disclosed by Microsoft. However, according to the information received, both screens of the Surface Neo would have a resolution of 1440×1928 pixels, and under these covers there would be a Core i5-L16G7 processor, 128 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM.

While it was a very curious subject whether the device would support LTE or not, the reason for this was a SIM card slot that was seen on the device in the announcement video. On the other hand, the operating system that will run on the Surface Neo, which is expected to be as thin as the Surface Duo, was another “postponed” Windows 10X operating system by Microsoft. However, this operating system, just like the Surface Neo, was history before it came out.

We do not know if we will see Surface Neo and Windows 10X in the future. However, some features that are known to be included in Windows 10X are now seen in Windows 11. In other words, it can be expected that the company will present the Surface Neo project with a different name in the coming months or years with a similar move.
