According to research by the European Central Bank (ECB), on average 10% of households in Europe invest in cryptocurrencies.

ECB’s survey revealed that 10% of households in Europe own cryptocurrencies. The research showed that wealthy families are more inclined to buy Bitcoin and altcoins.

The ECB’s Consumer Expectation Survey showed that one in ten households in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands are cryptocurrency hodlers.

While Dutch households were at the top with 14%, France was at the bottom with 6%.

The survey showed that younger men and more educated people are investing more in crypto.

The ECB also stated that cryptocurrencies are not a suitable investment tool for every investor and therefore EU authorities must “urgently” regulate.
