A Minecraft project called Blockverse has been launched in the past few weeks, and it basically claimed to be a dedicated Minecraft server only to people with Blockverse NFT. While selling access to private servers has been something that has been done for years, it was considered too much scam within the project.
On January 23, Blockverse released nearly 10,000 NFTs and earned $1.2 million from NFTs sold in less than 10 minutes. However, the names behind the project allegedly deleted the Blockverse website, game server and official Discord channel a few days after making all that money.

Blockverse, which went down in history as one of the biggest hits on Minecraft, caused many people to call the project a scam, as you can imagine. Blockverse developers apologized on Twitter after a few days of silence, saying they made an important update.

Blockverse team explained that people who bought NFT panicked as their anger grew and people started asking more questions (like when server related issues will be fixed, why fees are so high). Faced with messages of “harassment and threats”, the team decided that the best course of action would be to delete everything and disappear with over a million dollars.
“Unfortunately, we haven’t had a chance to reopen yet because the situation seems to have gotten worse,” the Blockchain team said in a statement. Although we delivered everything we promised, we understand why people are dissatisfied and feel compelled to keep our fully functional game active. ” said.

“We feel we owe everyone an apology and, more importantly, an explanation. Blockverse was supposed to be a great project because we spent a tremendous amount of time and resources prior to launch. After launch, we started Phase 2, the expansion of Blockverse directly. We couldn’t control issues like high fees during development, Minecraft server not being able to keep everyone at once. Eventually, things started to spiral out of control. ”
It seems that some of the people behind Blockverse have noticed the legal issues they may face and are trying to clear their hands of everything by handing over their keycodes to the community. They also stated that although they were open to handing over the project, they would not issue a refund.
